Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food preparation or kitchen environment preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
  • Ability to work part-time hours up to 20 hours per week
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in dietary departments dietary aide roles or restaurant kitchens is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of menu planning food preparation techniques and cooking methods
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation and food handling
  • Understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • Experience with catering or serving is a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow recipes accurately
  • Culinary experience or background in the food industry preferred but not required
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed including weekends or holidays if necessary

Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients and assemble components according to menu specifications and recipes
  • Assist with meal preparation including chopping slicing and cooking various food items
  • Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times
  • Support kitchen staff with cooking and plating dishes efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations utensils and equipment throughout shifts
  • Assist with menu planning and portion control to ensure consistency and quality
  • Help with catering events or special meal requests as needed
  • Ensure all food products are stored properly and inventory levels are maintained
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with kitchen staff
