Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • relevant experience in hospitality or customer service
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure
  • flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • physical stamina to stand for extended periods
  • knowledge of emergency safety procedures

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet and direct guests to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements
  • help create an overall enjoyable dining experience and promote a safe, clean, and neat environment for guests and other associates
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills, get along well with others, demonstrate flexibility and patience
  • maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • supervise activities of food-service associates in the dining room to ensure customer service, food handling, and sanitation procedures are followed
  • help train new food-service team members
  • supervise the closing of the assigned dining room ensuring proper completion of side work and station setup
  • demonstrate knowledge of emergency safety procedures and assist in evacuations
  • assist with service including occasional bussing and food service while maintaining safety and sanitation standards
  • may operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with staff of other departments during special events or functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
