Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of anodizing processes and surface treatment procedures
- Ability to use precision measurement tools and basic arithmetic
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and shop measuring instruments
- Ability to follow manufacturing process specifications and work instructions
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
- Successful completion of practical skills demonstration for this classification
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of electrolytic anodizing and surface treatment shop practices
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments to determine surface thickness and part dimensions
- Proficient in basic blueprint reading and math including decimals and geometry
- Experience with anodizing equipment and masking techniques
- Ability to read and follow manufacturing process specifications and shop documents
- Understanding of operations verification and quality assurance procedures
- Skilled in data input and use of computers for recording manufacturing data
Job Duties
- Perform precision layout, masking, chemfilming, etching, and anodizing of flight hardware and ground support equipment
- Verify that all operations, hardware, and processes conform to engineering requirements
- Determine surface readiness for processing and perform cleaning and coating as per specifications
- Measure critical dimensions and calculate surface areas using blueprint data
- Operate anodizing equipment, including alodine and sulfuric acid anodize processes
- Input measurement data and discrepancy reports using computer systems
- Recommend improvements to product quality, efficiency, and processes
