Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of anodizing processes and surface treatment procedures
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools and basic arithmetic
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and shop measuring instruments
  • Ability to follow manufacturing process specifications and work instructions
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
  • Successful completion of practical skills demonstration for this classification

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electrolytic anodizing and surface treatment shop practices
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments to determine surface thickness and part dimensions
  • Proficient in basic blueprint reading and math including decimals and geometry
  • Experience with anodizing equipment and masking techniques
  • Ability to read and follow manufacturing process specifications and shop documents
  • Understanding of operations verification and quality assurance procedures
  • Skilled in data input and use of computers for recording manufacturing data

Job Duties

  • Perform precision layout, masking, chemfilming, etching, and anodizing of flight hardware and ground support equipment
  • Verify that all operations, hardware, and processes conform to engineering requirements
  • Determine surface readiness for processing and perform cleaning and coating as per specifications
  • Measure critical dimensions and calculate surface areas using blueprint data
  • Operate anodizing equipment, including alodine and sulfuric acid anodize processes
  • Input measurement data and discrepancy reports using computer systems
  • Recommend improvements to product quality, efficiency, and processes
