- High school graduate or equivalent
- one year hospital patient access experience

- High school graduate or equivalent
- one year hospital patient access experience
- understanding of insurance plan rules and regulations
- prior experience with online insurance verification
Job Duties
- Performs accurate collection and documentation of demographic and insurance data for upcoming procedures
- verifies insurance, calculates benefits, and obtains authorization, if necessary
- explains coverage to the patient and notifies them of out-of-pocket expenses
- collects patient out-of-pocket expenses over the phone
- assists supervisors and trainers in mentoring new team members
- maintains a positive working environment and high morale reflective of the hospital’s philosophy
- serves as preceptors/trainers to orientee
- serves as a mentor to new associates and assists in new employee orientation
- performs other duties as assigned
