Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in janitorial or cleaning services preferred
- Ability to handle and operate cleaning chemicals safely
- Physical fitness to perform tasks such as walking, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs and ladders
- Ability to work independently and follow supervisor instructions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- No loud talking or disruptive behavior in the workplace
- Maintain clean and neat personal appearance
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic janitorial operations
- Familiarity with materials and equipment used in janitorial work
- Understanding of safe work practices and chemical handling according to MSDS
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Effective communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
- Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment
- Physical capability to perform job duties including lifting, bending, climbing, and reaching
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
Job Duties
- Perform high dusting of surfaces above shoulder height using treated dusters
- Sanitize and spot clean surfaces below shoulder height with germicidal solutions
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms including sinks, toilets, and dispensers
- Empty trash cans, wipe clean when necessary, and replace liners
- Dust mop and vacuum floors, including under furniture and in restrooms
- Maintain outdoor grounds by emptying ash urns, policing sidewalks and parking lots, cleaning benches and window ledges
- Clean public common areas and food courts including tables, floors, glass surfaces, and planters
- Sanitize floors using germicidal solutions starting from the back of rooms
- Conduct self-inspection of cleaned areas to ensure quality and proper furniture placement
- Provide courteous customer service and report maintenance issues
- Perform additional duties such as floor stripping, waxing, carpet extraction, and buffing as assigned
