Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of housekeeping experience in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting is preferred
  • Prior maintenance experience and general maintenance skillset are a plus, including drywall repair and texturing, carpentry, painting, and floor care
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their uses, as well as cleaning equipment is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

Job Duties

  • Operate floor cleaning machines and clean hard surfaces and carpets as directed
  • Maintain all assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition, including empty apartments, common areas, and outside spaces
  • Wash, sanitize, dust, polish, vacuum, mop, and sweep all areas of the establishment
  • Follow community cleaning schedule and protocol according to community guidelines and follow established safety precautions
  • Report all repair requests or safety hazards
  • Laundry duties as assigned
  • Ensure that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are always properly stored
  • Perform routine building maintenance rounds as directed, completing tasks such as painting, wall patching, floor care, pressure washing, and basic plumbing repairs
  • Work within the legal scope of local and state codes
  • Respect residents' privacy and preferences while cleaning their living spaces
  • Build positive relationships with residents by engaging in friendly, respectful interactions
  • Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and according to instructions
  • Follow infection control and sanitation protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of waste
