Within this vibrant campus setting, the university partners with Compass Group, a leading global foodservice and hospitality company, to manage dining services that cater to students, faculty, and staff. Compass Group is dedicated to providing high-quality food and exceptional service, supporting a friendly and safe environment where associates are valued and empowered.

The university is currently hiring full-time Porter positions to join the campus team, located at 878 Houston Street, College Station, TX 77843. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards required for a positive dining experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The work shifts primarily cover afternoon and closing hours, and schedules may vary, with more details shared during the interview process. The position offers a fixed pay rate of $14.00 per hour and requires previous cleaning or dishwasher experience.

As a Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the front of the house areas, including tables, counters, floors, windows, and beverage stations, are meticulously clean and orderly. Your responsibilities include bussing and clearing tables during peak service times, washing dishes and glassware, maintaining sanitation standards at cooking stations and equipment, and assisting with receiving and storing deliveries. The role requires adherence to safety and hygiene protocols, including the use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes and strict compliance with HACCP standards.

This role is not only about maintaining cleanliness but also about contributing to a smooth and efficient dining service that upholds the university's reputation and meets health and safety regulations. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that supports the operational success of campus dining services with a commitment to quality and safety.

Compass Group offers its employees numerous benefits designed to support their health, well-being, and professional growth. These benefits include opportunities for training and development, retirement plans, health and wellness programs, and various insurance options. Full-time associates also enjoy additional benefits such as medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, and flexible spending accounts. The company fosters an inclusive and supportive work environment where diversity is celebrated, and all associates are treated fairly and with respect.

Employees may experience seasonal variations in work availability due to school breaks when food service demands decrease. During these periods, work may be unpaid or result in temporary layoffs, but opportunities to work at different locations or year-round may be available depending on business needs. Compass Group prioritizes safety, compliance, and employee empowerment, making this Porter role an excellent opportunity for those seeking stable employment in a respected organization dedicated to higher education and hospitality excellence.
