Job Requirements
- No previous maintenance experience required
- Ability to communicate in English
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques
- Ability to use hand tools and maintenance equipment safely
- Ability to follow instructions
- Dependable and reliable
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as sweeping, mopping and vacuuming
- Ability to work weekends and evenings if needed
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance if job duties require vehicle use
- Willingness to comply with safety standards
- Ability to travel to other communities with own transportation if local
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, tools and materials
- Ability to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment safely
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Dependable and able to work with minimal supervision
- Team-oriented with willingness to assist other departments
- Awareness of safety and compliance with OSHA and company standards
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record if vehicle use is required
Job Duties
- Cleaning common areas including offices, laundry facilities, hallways, lobbies, lounges, bathrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other assigned areas
- Assure all exterior walks and stairs are free of hazards
- Maintain storage and maintenance shops
- Ensure proper chemical storage according to guidelines
- Report to work on time with neat appearance or uniform
- Check common areas, parking lots, trash enclosures, playgrounds, pools for cleanliness throughout the day
- Transport trash and waste to disposal areas
- Replenish bathroom supplies, replace light bulbs, use broom, mop and cleaning machines
- Operate blower and high-pressure hoses for cleaning
- Assist in preparing vacant apartments by light cleaning and debris removal
- Adhere to safety standards in employee manual
- Travel to other communities as required
- Inform supervisors of safety concerns or emergencies
- Assist management with resident social activities, posting notices and marketing materials
- Use company-provided tools secured at the maintenance facility
