Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in janitorial or building maintenance work
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand for 7 hours or more
  • ability to work in various weather conditions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in building maintenance or cleaning
  • knowledge of cleaning equipment and safety procedures
  • ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting and standing for extended periods
  • good communication skills with a trauma-informed approach
  • reliability and strong work ethics
  • ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • basic repair skills
  • willingness to participate in ongoing training programs

Job Duties

  • Clean and maintain sidewalks of the buildings up to one foot past the curb
  • empty the compactor machine daily ensuring the compactor room remains clean
  • sort recyclables and put out trash on collection days in designated locations
  • sweep the building areas including hallways, staircases, community rooms, bathrooms, laundry room, outdoor spaces, offices, elevators, and lobby daily as needed
  • mop floors in the building areas two to three times a week and as needed
  • assist the Building Superintendent with simple repairs, painting, moving items, and unit turnovers
  • perform routine and specialized cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing restrooms and public areas
  • use cleaning equipment safely for floor maintenance such as buffing, shampooing, and stripping
  • operate hand trucks, dollies, and equipment to facilitate item movement within the building
  • respond to tenants in a trauma-informed manner
  • attend internal trainings as scheduled
  • use tools and equipment properly and safely
  • work in all weather conditions
  • move items up to 50 pounds
  • stand for at least a 7 hour period
