Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in janitorial or porter roles preferred
- ability to work physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
- ability to stand for at least 7 hours per shift
- willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- reliable and punctual
- ability to follow safety protocols and use cleaning equipment
- strong communication skills
- commitment to trauma-informed care practices

Job Duties
- Clean and maintain sidewalks up to one foot past the curb
- empty the compactor machine daily and keep compactor room clean
- sort recyclables and put out trash on collection days
- sweep building areas daily including hallways, staircases, community rooms, bathrooms, laundry rooms, outdoor spaces, offices, elevators, lobby
- mop building floors two to three times a week and as needed
- assist the superintendent with simple repairs, painting, moving items, and unit turnovers
- perform routine and specialized cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing restrooms and public areas
- operate cleaning equipment safely for floor maintenance including buffing, shampooing, and stripping
- use hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move items within the building
- respond to tenants in a trauma-informed manner
- attend internal trainings as scheduled
- use tools and equipment properly and safely
- work in all weather conditions
- move items weighing up to 50 lbs
- stand for periods of at least 7 hours
