Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum two years’ experience in building cleaning required
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of routine power tools and cleaning equipment
- Working knowledge of city regulations
- Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within six months
- Good communication skills
- Ability to interact with staff and residents
- Well organized and attentive to detail
- Ability to manage time effectively
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum two years’ experience in building cleaning required
- General building maintenance skills desirable
- Knowledge of routine power tools and cleaning equipment
- Working knowledge of NYC Building Codes and city regulations
- Basic computer skills including internet search, Microsoft Office
- CPR and First Aid certification (must be obtained within six months of employment)
- Effective customer service skills
- Ability to interact positively with staff and residents

Job Duties
- Sweep and mop all floors, offices, hallways, lounge, laundry room, community kitchen, and staircases daily
- Dust, sweep and mop all bathrooms, clean sinks and toilets, ensure bathroom paper product supply
- Dust furniture and windowsills in common and staff areas
- Clean compactor, take out garbage thrice weekly, maintain compactor and room cleanliness
- Clean laundry machines and dryers
- Maintain exterior by sweeping, hosing front entrance and yard, shovel and clear snow to ensure safe facility entrance
- Perform minor repairs including hanging pictures, painting, light bulb replacement, faucet repair, floor stripping and waxing
- Assist cleaning resident apartments including sweeping, mopping, wiping counters, scrubbing toilets and showers, rubbish removal
- Prepare for extermination services, including bed bug treatment readiness
- Clean and prepare vacant apartments for occupancy
- Escort outside maintenance vendors in the building
- Report damages or incidents to Program Director
- Receive, stock, inventory supplies, distribute provisional supplies to residents
- Prepare and submit maintenance supply requisition to Program Director
- Meet weekly with Program Director for supervision
- Maintain professional, cordial relationships with residents
- Handle confidential information per Federal and New York State laws
- Adhere to personnel and residential policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as directed by Program Director consistent with program goals
