Job Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout the dining room effectively
  • Ability to lift and carry serving trays weighing up to 15lbs and bus tubs weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a janitorial or utility porter role is preferred but not required
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Duties

  • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting common areas, restrooms, and dining spaces
  • Empty trash bins and recycling containers, replace liners, and dispose of waste in a hygienic and environmentally responsible manner
  • Monitor and clean restrooms regularly, replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors by mopping, waxing, and buffing as necessary
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department and assist in minor repairs or adjustments as directed
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and equipment for events, meetings, or special occasions
  • Ensure that cleaning supplies, restroom supplies, and other essentials are well-stocked and readily available
  • Collaborate with the cleaning and maintenance team to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to efficiently clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area by regularly emptying trash, cleaning food preparation areas, and ensuring equipment is clean and in good working order
  • Sort and stack clean dishes and utensils in an organized manner for easy access by kitchen staff
  • Provide support to kitchen staff as needed, including helping with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks during busy periods
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents
