Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • Previous custodial experience desirable
  • Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds following safety procedures
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 8 feet
  • Complete all required forms accurately
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance

Job Duties

  • Operate various mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums, polishers, buffers
  • Maintain facility by washing, cleaning, and replacing equipment and furnishings
  • Work in damp, dusty, and dirty areas
  • Dispose of trash, waste, and other disposable materials
  • Handle cleaning solvents and chemicals in compliance with regulations
  • Plan work schedule for major cleaning tasks
  • Damp dust furniture, light fixtures, and windowsills
  • Wet mop floors in assigned areas daily including bathrooms
  • Clean restrooms, wash basins, mirrors, commodes, countertops, urinals, tubs, and showers daily
  • Check assigned areas daily to keep environments fresh
  • Clean air vents
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisor promptly
  • Wash windows as scheduled
  • Strip and recoat floors when necessary
  • Monitor areas for spills and hazards
  • Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services
  • Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
