Job Requirements
- ability to lift 50 - 100 lbs following appropriate safety procedures
- complete all required forms
- ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner
- climb ladders and work at heights above ground level maximum 8 ft
- regular and predictable attendance
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalency preferred
- 1-2 previous custodial experience preferred
- effective written and verbal communication skills
- strong customer service communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- operates various mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums polishers buffers
- maintains facility in a clean and sanitary condition through washing cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings
- works in damp dusty and dirty areas
- responsible for disposal of trash waste and other disposable materials
- handles various cleaning solvents chemicals complying with OSHA EPA State Health Department regulations
- plans work schedule for major tasks
- damp dusts furniture light fixtures window windowsills
- wet mops floors including bathrooms daily damp mops corridor floors lobby dining areas
- cleans restrooms wash basins mirrors commodes counter tops urinals tubs and showers daily
- checks assigned areas daily to keep fresh
- cleans air vents
- reports needed repairs immediately to supervisor such as leaky faucets toilets loose tile broken windowpanes missing nuts or screws
- washes windows as scheduled
- strips and recoats floor areas when necessary and as scheduled
- checks areas for spills water especially in bathrooms periodically
- uses safety precautions in all housekeeping services
- maintains assigned equipment in good working condition
- other duties as assigned
