Job Requirements

  • NY State ID preferred
  • Work or life experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
  • Ability to participate in 3-5 weekdays of paid NYS Mandated OPWDD initial trainings during normal business hours upon hire
  • Tuberculosis test mandatory for most positions
  • Able to complete monthly trainings on Workday
  • Able to move heavy objects
  • Able to multitask

Job Duties

  • Keeps program clean and in orderly condition
  • Cleaning common areas following CDC guidelines for cleanliness of the facility such as bathrooms, kitchens, backyard
  • Sweeping and mopping of classrooms and hallway floors
  • Service, clean, and stock supply bathrooms regularly
  • Ensure all paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizing dispensers are properly working and refilled
  • Notify Program Supervisor on a weekly basis in regards to ordering supplies needed
  • Disinfect all surfaces in the Program such as waiting room, cafeteria, chairs, and core rooms
  • Assist in emergency spills and clean ups
  • Empty boxes into the shredding bins on a weekly basis
  • Update the cleaning log on a daily basis
  • Gather and empty trash
  • Able to multitask
  • Able to move heavy objects
  • Able to complete monthly trainings on Workday
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with the peers, colleagues, and leadership
