Job Requirements
- legally authorized to work in the United States
- pass a satisfactory background check including criminal, education, and employment verification
- possess or obtain a valid State of Alaska Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
- meet all required certifications and licenses for the duration of employment
- ability to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- provide necessary documents for military service interview preference if applicable
Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics, or similar discipline with 10 years of relevant experience including 2 years in management
- or master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics, or similar discipline with 8 years of relevant experience including 2 years in management
- experience in maritime cargo operations
- experience in logistics support
- experience in contracting
- experience in transportation
- proven management capability
Job Duties
- oversee the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the Port of Alaska
- ensure compliance with Title XI of the Municipal Code
- maximize the use and productivity of port facilities and land
- manage budgets and maintain cost-effectiveness
- take operational and administrative direction from the Municipal Manager
- follow policy direction from the Mayor
- perform other duties as assigned
