Job Requirements
- Must be at least 15 years old
- Six months of experience as a pool lifeguard is preferred
- Current nationally recognized certifications including lifeguard training
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent
- Standard First Aid or equivalent
- Ability to use and maintain pool equipment
- Understanding of safety regulations
- Ability to perform pool readings
- Must pass initial and recurrent physical ability tests
- National and state background checks required
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Maintain order at the swimming pool facility
- Maintain continuous surveillance of patrons in swimming pools
- Ensure appropriate headcount of patrons on an hourly basis
- Call out warnings or take action for patrons in danger
- Provide safety information to patrons before water sports
- Supervise patrons to ensure swimming within safety protocols
- Enforce safety and pool rules
- Perform rescue work and provide emergency first aid
- Manage respiratory and cardiac emergencies including CPR, AED, and use of rescue equipment
- Administer swim tests
- Schedule use of lanes and pool space
- Instruct patrons on swimming pool etiquette and techniques
- Conduct opening and closing procedures of the facility
- Spot hazards and prevent accidents
- Report safety hazards
- Complete incident reports and maintain documents
- Ensure cleanliness and routine pool maintenance
- Check and maintain safety equipment
- Operate water pumps and control chemical additives
- Participate in continuous training for rescue proficiency
- Provide world class customer service
- Adhere to safety regulations and standards
- Report any workplace hazards or injuries
- Support EEO and prevention of sexual harassment
- Perform other related duties as assigned
