Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required
- Males must be registered for Selective Service
- Must pass initial pre-employment medical examination and physical fitness tests
- Must obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
- Must qualify and remain qualified in the use of required weapons including firearms
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to operate security forces vehicles
- Must pass formal law enforcement training school
- Must work an uncommon tour of duty including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, rotating shifts, and recall
- Subject to random drug testing under Air Force Drug Testing Plan
- Incumbent must wear required protective clothing and uniform
- Must comply with provisions of the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment
- Must maintain first responder certifications including CPR and first aid
- Must obtain and maintain various operational qualifications and certifications
- Must be able to work under potentially hazardous conditions
- Must be able to pass duty position evaluations within required timelines
- Must meet specialized experience requirements for GS-07 level
- Must be able to respond effectively to emergencies and critical incidents
- Must complete training on specialized tactics including active shooter response
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures, training requirements and operating methods required to perform the full range of police officer activities independently
- Knowledge of special operating requirements, methods, and procedures for enforcing specialized personnel access controls
- Knowledge of appropriate use of force and self-defense techniques
- Ability to operate motor vehicles with gross weight of 7,000 pounds or less and 2 or 4 wheel drive
- Ability to work and communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community management employees and other law enforcement agencies
- Specialized experience in law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques
- Successful completion of formal law enforcement training school and DoD Peace Officer Standardization and Training Certification
Job Duties
- Performs the full spectrum of police officer duties within the assigned jurisdictions
- Conducts investigations and surveillance
- Performs as Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) Controller
- Performs emergency response and incident command and control
- Enforces law and order, preserves peace, and protects life and civil rights
- Maintains order and protects property during routine patrols
- Employs infantry and SWAT tactics during critical incidents
