Job Requirements
- Experience equivalent to one year at GS-06 level
- Ability to obtain and maintain first responder certifications
- Ability to undergo recurring specialized training
- Must be able to perform under risks associated with law enforcement
- Ability to obtain and maintain government travel card
- Successfully complete duty position evaluations within two years
- Meet federal time-in-grade requirements where applicable
Job Qualifications
- Specialized experience equivalent to one year of GS-06 level
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and operating methods
- Ability to employ force appropriately and execute self-defense
- Ability to operate motor vehicles up to 7,000 pounds
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with community and law enforcement agencies
- Experience with law enforcement or related protective services
Job Duties
- Perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order
- Preserve the peace and protect life and civil rights
- Detect and investigate crimes and apprehend violators
- Conduct patrols within assigned jurisdictions
- Obtain and maintain certifications in first responder training and specialized law enforcement systems
- Employ infantry/SWAT small unit tactics including active shooter response
- Complete duty position evaluations and maintain proficiency in security operations
