Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in poker room preferred
  • No felony or theft convictions
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
  • Must pass background investigation
  • Must obtain and maintain gaming license
  • Knowledge of poker techniques
  • Knowledge of business English
  • Knowledge of guest service procedures
  • Ability to make fast and accurate financial transactions
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent guest service
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to operate business computers
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift up to 20 pounds
  • Willingness to work evenings, overnight, holidays, weekends
  • Acceptance of exposure to second-hand smoke and high noise levels

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a poker room preferred
  • Knowledge of poker techniques
  • Knowledge of business English including spelling, grammar, punctuation
  • Knowledge of guest service procedures
  • Ability to make financial transactions quickly and accurately
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write basic English
  • Ability to provide outstanding guest service
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with diverse individuals
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Skill in operating business computers and office machines

Job Duties

  • Greet and seat guests
  • Take names on waiting list
  • Observe tables and clean as necessary
  • Clean and organize host area
  • Answer phone and respond to poker room inquiries
  • Interact with guests to ensure positive gaming experience
  • Sell and deliver chips to guests
  • Refill table banks as requested
  • Contribute to team efforts
  • Perform other duties as required
