Job Description

The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is located in the famed Deer Valley ski resort, just approximately 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport. This distinguished hotel is part of an exciting new development that aims to transform the area with 17 ski lifts, 1,600 residential units, 8 hotels with a combined total of 1,350 rooms, 250,000 square feet of conference and retail space, and one of the largest "ski beaches" in the world. Job Requirements

  • must be at least 21 years old
  • previous food service experience required
  • refined verbal and written communication skills
  • flexibility to work weekends and holidays
  • physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • must have current alcohol server certification and/or food service permit
  • food service and/or other certification as required by local or state government agency

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience as a food and beverage server
  • hospitality industry experience preferred
  • fine dining experience preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • menu knowledge and ability to make recommendations
  • ability to engage guests positively
  • current alcohol server certification and/or food service permit as required
  • food service or other certification as required by local or state government agency

Job Duties

  • submit guest menu selections to kitchen and bar
  • present food and beverage preferences to guests
  • gain comprehensive menu knowledge and provide recommendations
  • engage guests in casual conversation to enhance dining experience
  • prepare restaurant for service and maintain sanitary standards
  • provide attentive and courteous service to guests
  • assist in maintaining a clean and organized dining environment
