Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • previous experience in similar position of 3 months or longer
  • basic knowledge of customer service principles food server function and restaurant and kitchen operations
  • knowledge of standard cash-handling procedures
  • fluent in oral and written English
  • ability to clearly see detailed guest checks computer print outs written instructions and restaurant in dimly lit conditions
  • manual coordination to punch buttons grasp items and balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages
  • must work Saturdays

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • previous experience in a similar position of 3 months or longer

  • vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks computer print outs written instructions and entire restaurant in dimly lit conditions
  • manual coordination to punch buttons grasp items and balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages

Job Duties

  • Greets and takes food and drink orders from customers serving the orders and accommodating special needs or requests
  • remains attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience adhering to or exceeding service standards at all times
  • completes all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing sidework as instructed
  • memorizes menu items recipes and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations to customers
  • maintains cleanliness standards in restaurant waitstation and kitchen service area to satisfy health board requirements
  • controls allocated guest checks following established procedures and documents all required information
  • receives proper payment from guests ensuring accuracy of guest check and method of payment
  • attends pre-meal and departmental meetings to enhance communication and gain product knowledge
  • responds to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone providing timely and knowledgeable information
  • presents a clean and professional appearance at all times
  • maintains a friendly cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
  • performs other duties as assigned requested or deemed necessary by management
  • must work Saturdays
