Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred but not required
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • strong customer service orientation and attention to detail
  • basic math skills for handling transactions and managing orders
  • ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods
  • ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
  • must have a reliable schedule and be available for nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • compliance with Ugly Dumpling's dress code and personal appearance standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience as a server or in customer service roles is an asset
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards is beneficial
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • ability to handle cash and use POS systems accurately
  • enthusiastic and positive attitude towards hospitality
  • ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment

Job Duties

  • Welcome guests warmly, explain menu items including daily specials, and answer guest questions about ingredients, allergens, or preparation methods
  • take accurate orders and communicate dietary needs or preferences to the kitchen
  • serve food and beverages promptly and monitor guest needs throughout the meal
  • respond to guest feedback courteously, resolve issues, and escalate concerns to the manager when necessary
  • maintain a comprehensive understanding of the menu including food and beverage offerings, preparation methods, and promotions
  • use the POS system accurately for order entry and payment processing
  • coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and timely delivery of orders
  • assist with food presentation standards to uphold quality
  • adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • maintain a clean and organized work area including service stations and dining spaces
  • support opening and closing duties, restock supplies, and prepare the dining area for service
  • collaborate with other servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure guest satisfaction
  • assist with tasks such as refilling water, clearing tables, resetting for next guests, and supporting special events
  • perform other duties as assigned
