Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • Minimum of 2 years cooking experience preferred
  • Experience with broiler cooking preferred
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations
  • Good working knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic English language skills
  • Ability to follow written product labeling
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to perform duties in hot and confined spaces
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, and use manual dexterity
  • Willingness to follow safety and security policies

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • Minimum of 2 years cooking experience preferred
  • Experience with broiler cooking preferred
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • Good working knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking fundamentals
  • Knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
  • Basic math skills to understand recipes and portion sizes
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written instructions
  • Basic English language skills for communication
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment like coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Prepares daily preparation lists for production
  • Reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
  • Prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest check specifications
  • Visually inspects and selects only the highest standard food items for menu preparation
  • Checks and controls proper product storage and portion control
  • Maintains refrigeration, equipment, and work areas in clean and working condition to comply with health regulations
  • Maintains logs for cooling, heating, and temperature
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures
  • Follows safety and security procedures and rules
  • Knows and exercises department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • Utilizes protective equipment
  • Reports unsafe conditions and incidents to management
  • Provides a safe work environment by following safety procedures
  • Maintains neat and well-groomed appearance according to standards
  • Performs related duties as requested by management
  • Assists other kitchen personnel as needed
