Job Requirements
- high school education or equivalent
- one to two years of relevant cooking or kitchen experience
- ability to follow recipes and production standards
- physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly
- ability to stand for extended periods
- good communication skills both verbal and written
- ability to work in high temperature environments
- adherence to sanitation and safety protocols

- one to two years of related employment experience
- knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures to perform analytical work
Job Duties
- check all items against the recipe cards and verify that use records are followed
- monitor the line set up prior to all meal functions to ensure maximum efficiency
- monitor the equipment maintenance and kitchen clean as you go policy to ensure strict adherence
- prepare food following recipe cards and production standards
- start food items ahead of time without exceeding estimated needs
- date all food containers and rotate per the SOP
- check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation
- note any out-of-stock items or shortages
- assist in keeping buffet stocked
- return unused food items to storage and cover/date perishables
- assist in setting up plans to correct food cost problems and control food waste
