Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- one to two years of employment in a related kitchen position
- knowledge of cooking practices and procedures
- ability to perform non-repetitive analytical work
- physical ability to lift weights up to 70 lbs
- capability to perform repetitive bending and climbing
- ability to stand continuously for long periods
- ability to hear equipment timers and communicate effectively
- ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- ability to work in varying temperatures including cold freezers and hot kitchen areas
Job Qualifications

- one to two years of experience in a related kitchen position
- knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures
- ability to perform non-repetitive analytical work
- strong communication skills
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- physical stamina to meet job demands
Job Duties
- Check all items against the recipe cards
- verify that use records are followed for all items served
- ensure food is presented efficiently and with quality
- monitor the line setup prior to meal functions
- oversee equipment maintenance and kitchen cleanliness
- prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and standards
- start ahead food items without excess preparation
- date and rotate food containers as per standard operating procedures
- check par levels for shift use and arrange preparation accordingly
- note out-of-stock items or shortages
- assist in buffet stocking
- return unused food to storage with proper coverage and dating
- help set up plans to correct food cost issues and control food waste
