Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous host service experience
- Ability to work varied schedule including evenings
- Basic math skills
- Ability to use reservations software
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to transport up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand or remain stationary for duration of shift
- Tolerance for exposure to fumes, dust and chemicals
- Ability to work in variable temperature and noise conditions
Job Qualifications
- Previous host service experience required preferably in fine dining or upscale restaurant
- At least one year of related food and beverage experience preferred
- Commitment to world class guest service
- Leadership skills a plus
- Fluency in English
- Basic math skills with ability to handle cash and credit transactions
- Familiarity with reservations software preferably Open Table
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong guest service recovery skills
- Proactive, exercises good judgment
- Ability to remain calm and courteous in high pressure situations
- Ability to quickly learn Biltmore products, services and systems
- Professional demeanor reflecting Biltmore core values
Job Duties
- Greet and acknowledge arriving guests
- Escort guests to tables and assist seating
- Maintain an optimum flow of seating by section
- Extend courteous departures and invite guests to return
- Guide servers and dining room assistants in table set-up
- Communicate VIP arrivals and special requests
- Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently
- Take, record and confirm reservations and cancellations
- Accommodate all requests for information courteously
- Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly
- Train and serve as resource for Level 1 Hosts
