Job Requirements

  • Must have and maintain an active Handlers' Card (ServSafe)
  • Adhere to local food handler requirements
  • Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance
  • Perform all duties responsibly and efficiently

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-1 year experience in a full-service kitchen environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to safely move throughout kitchen and café
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cleaning protocols
  • Professional appearance and work ethic

Job Duties

  • Load, run and unload the dish machine ensuring all items are clean and sanitized
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards for hand-washed pots, pans and trays
  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes and utensils
  • Stack clean and dry dishes
  • Transport clean dishes to correct storage or cook's line
  • Change dishwater in dish machine hourly
  • Sort and remove trash to designated pickup areas
  • Fill and empty soak tubs with cleaning and sanitizing solutions
  • Sweep, scrub and mop floors
  • Maintain a clean dish pit
  • Notify manager of dish machine temperature issues
  • Clean garbage cans
  • Follow hand washing protocols
  • Monitor and report equipment problems
  • Clean and scrub walls
  • Prepare various foods for cooking and serving
  • Follow safety and sanitation procedures according to OSHA and public health guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
