Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree preferred
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English
- Ability to perform the duties of the Barista position including coffee preparation, cashier, and customer service tasks
- Availability for part-time evening shifts
- Willingness to adhere to AURO and franchisor's operational policies and standards
- Ability to perform cleaning and inventory tasks as required
- Successful completion of background and substance abuse screening
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English
- Knowledge of coffee preparation and beverage service
- Experience in hospitality or food & beverage industry is an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle cash and operate POS systems
- Familiarity with sanitation and safety standards in food service
- Customer service orientation with friendly and courteous demeanor
- Ability to learn and remember guest preferences
Job Duties
- Learns guest's names and uses them to address them
- Remembers regular guests' favorite drinks
- Thoroughly and correctly sets up the coffee prior to opening and cleans at end of shift according to AURO and franchisor's operational policies and standards
- Performs all necessary side-work as scheduled including stocking and organizing liquor, juices, glassware, paper, wines, and cut fruit
- Demonstrates knowledge of all menu items and beverages, their garnish, contents, and preparation methods to confidently answer guest questions
- Maintains awareness of daily specials and "86" items
- Greets guests promptly at bar or table within two minutes
- Utilizes suggestive selling techniques to increase check averages
- Operates coffee machines competently, maintaining operation and preparing all coffee drinks to specification
- Takes orders accurately, processes them via POS system, and ensures proper guest check procedures
- Checks guest orders prior to serving to verify appearance, temperature, and portion size
- Serves guest orders promptly following service standards and follows up to ensure guest satisfaction
- Receives payments, records charge tips and pays out correctly ensuring financial asset handling
- Pre-busses and busses all tables/bar according to standards preparing for future customers
- Completes all closing checklist items including cleaning walls, floors, equipment, shelving, and service units to ensure sanitation and safety
- Maintains inventory knowledge at all times and requisitions daily supplies to ensure efficient operation
