Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience as a cook
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break, bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs unassisted
  • Willingness to undergo a successful background check
  • Dependable and self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience as a cook
  • Strong passion for cooking and desire to learn and grow culinary skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with guests, team members, and leadership
  • Ability to properly open and close the kitchen, including equipment checks, sanitation, and documentation

Job Duties

  • Provide fast, courteous, and professional service to guests
  • Prepare, cook, heat, and serve all components of the daily menu following Plum Market Foodservice standards
  • Maintain the hot bar during lunch service to ensure food is fresh, well-presented, and properly rotated
  • Perform all food safety and sanitation practices, including daily equipment checks and temperature logs
  • Demonstrate proper knife skills, portion control, and recipe execution
  • Receive deliveries, stock shelves and coolers, and rotate products according to established standards
  • Assist with catering orders, including preparation and delivery as directed by the manager
  • Support other stations as needed, including sandwich and salad
  • Wash dishes as needed and keep all kitchen areas, equipment, and floors clean and in excellent working condition
  • Sweep and mop floors daily to maintain sanitation and safety standards
  • Communicate needs, issues, or concerns to leadership promptly
  • Uphold all Plum Market Foodservice policies, procedures, and standard operating practices
