Job Requirements
- Must be able to pass a drug screening, medical physical and, if applicable, visual testing
- Able to move up to 50lbs
- Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
- Can wear PPE
- Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes
- Capable of making repetitive movements including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting and walking up and down stairs
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree with 2+ years of work experience
- Experience with wet processes for coating/plating Zn, phosphate, Ni/Cu and epoxy preferred
- Experience with chemical titrations preferred
- Basic understanding of pretreatment and wet processes for coating and plating
- Proficiency in using Excel to create and populate production data
- Knowledge of safe methods of handling materials and chemicals
- Comfortable with measurement equipment such as micrometers, pH meters and measuring scopes
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently with minimum supervision
Job Duties
- Assisting the plating engineer in developing wet processes as well as related racking and testing procedures to produce high quality coatings and plating on magnet products
- Assisting in processing production work orders as well as recording and reporting of data
- Performing visual inspections, control plating thickness and product quality
- Maintaining proper plating bath chemistries including, performance of chemical titrations, basic controller and measurement operations
- Performing regular preventive maintenance work and recording and reporting equipment deficiencies in a timely manner
- Managing storage of materials, supplies, reports, corrosion tests, data and data analysis
- Working with senior engineers to run experiments and help implement improvements and modifications to the plating line
- Supporting the QC team in sampling analysis for process and product quality
