Job Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening, medical physical and, if applicable, visual testing
  • Able to move up to 50lbs
  • Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
  • Can wear PPE
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes
  • Capable of making repetitive movements including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting and walking up and down stairs

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree with 2+ years of work experience
  • Experience with wet processes for coating/plating Zn, phosphate, Ni/Cu and epoxy preferred
  • Experience with chemical titrations preferred
  • Basic understanding of pretreatment and wet processes for coating and plating
  • Proficiency in using Excel to create and populate production data
  • Knowledge of safe methods of handling materials and chemicals
  • Comfortable with measurement equipment such as micrometers, pH meters and measuring scopes
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently with minimum supervision

Job Duties

  • Assisting the plating engineer in developing wet processes as well as related racking and testing procedures to produce high quality coatings and plating on magnet products
  • Assisting in processing production work orders as well as recording and reporting of data
  • Performing visual inspections, control plating thickness and product quality
  • Maintaining proper plating bath chemistries including, performance of chemical titrations, basic controller and measurement operations
  • Performing regular preventive maintenance work and recording and reporting equipment deficiencies in a timely manner
  • Managing storage of materials, supplies, reports, corrosion tests, data and data analysis
  • Working with senior engineers to run experiments and help implement improvements and modifications to the plating line
  • Supporting the QC team in sampling analysis for process and product quality
