Job Requirements
- Basic understanding or willingness to learn electroplating metals and metallic alloys in aqueous solutions
- Experience using overhead hoists, fork trucks, hand tools, and rectifiers
- Willingness to learn and conduct chemical titrations on plating baths
- Ability to stand for long periods and work extended shifts
- Ability to move up to 50lbs
- Manual dexterity to assemble parts quickly and accurately
- Pass drug screening, medical physical, and visual testing if applicable
- Ability to wear PPE such as N-95 masks, half face respirators, face shields, aprons, and fire resistant coveralls
- Capable of making repetitive movements including sitting, squatting, and walking up and down stairs
Job Qualifications
- 0-2 years experience in pretreatment and wet processes for coating and plating
- Knowledge of safe methods of handling materials and chemicals and use of proper PPE
- Comfortable with measurement equipment such as thermometers, pH meters, and microscopes
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Assisting the plating engineer/technician in daily operations and related tests to ensure high quality coating and plating on magnet products
- Assisting in reporting maintenance issues to the manager/technician for work orders and recording and reporting data daily
- Performing visual inspections of coated parts and sending them to quality control to check plating thickness and product quality
- Assisting in maintaining proper plating bath balance including taking pH and conductivity readings daily
- Performing and maintaining regular housekeeping by following the 5S model
- Managing storage of materials, supplies, reports, corrosion tests, data, and data analysis
