Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in plating or surface finishing
- basic understanding of electroplating and corrosion-resistant coatings
- ability to pass a drug screening, medical physical, and visual testing if applicable
- physical ability to move up to 50 pounds
- manual dexterity for accurate assembly of parts
- able to wear personal protective equipment including N-95 masks, respirators, face shields, aprons, and flame-resistant coveralls
- able to stand for long periods and capable of working extended shifts
- able to perform repetitive movements such as sitting, squatting, and stair climbing
Job Qualifications
- 0-2 years experience and basic understanding of pretreatment and wet processes for coating and plating
- knowledge of overhead hoists, fork trucks, hand tools, and rectifiers
- knowledge of safe methods of handling materials and chemicals using proper personal protective equipment
- comfortable using measurement equipment such as thermometers, pH meters, and microscopes
- preferably experienced with wet processes for coating/plating zinc, phosphate, nickel/copper, and epoxy
- willing to learn and conduct chemical titrations on plating baths
- able to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Assisting the plating engineer/technician in daily operations as well as related tests to ensure high quality coating and plating on magnet products
- assisting in reporting maintenance issues and submitting work orders
- recording and reporting data daily
- performing visual inspections of coated parts and sending them to quality control for plating thickness and product quality checks
- assisting with maintaining proper plating bath balance including taking pH and conductivity readings daily
- performing and maintaining regular housekeeping following the 5S model
- managing storage of materials, supplies, reports, corrosion tests, and data analysis
