Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • completion of an accredited nursing program
  • current nursing license or certification as RN, NP, or PA
  • active CPR and AED certification
  • meet state IV therapy requirements
  • FDA medical support specialist training completion
  • at least two years clinical or hospital experience
  • willingness to work part-time in Mobile, Alabama
  • compliance with company policies and regulatory standards

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • graduate of a recognized educational nursing program meeting state requirements
  • currently licensed or certified as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of assignment
  • current CPR and AED certification
  • fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • completion of FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • minimum of two years clinical or hospital setting experience

Job Duties

  • determine donor eligibility including management of informed consent, conduct AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, perform medical history interviews and physical examinations, administer blood testing and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results
  • evaluate and manage donor reactions according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • follow SOPs for medical emergencies including executing Center Physician's standing orders and coordinating transport to emergency care facilities
  • refer donors to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings or medical and technical issues
  • support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • manage employee incidents and determine need for further occupational health or emergency room evaluation
  • serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support pandemic investigations in coordination with EHS and Medical Affairs
