Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Food Science, Engineering, Science or similar academic disciplines
- 5-10 years experience at the Plant Management position
- 5-10 years in a supervisory and or management position with progressively more responsible positions
- Knowledge of Food Safety, Associate Safety Programs/Systems HACCP, GMPs etc
- Sanitation and Plant Maintenance and Continuous Improvement such as Lean Manufacturing would be definite assets
- Experience with TPM required
- Union environment experience preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and cultural sensitivity required
- Ability to manage a diverse staff of managerial personnel
- Experience with self-directed teams/skill-based pay
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Food Science, Engineering, Science or related field
- 5-10 years of experience in plant management
- 5-10 years of supervisory or management experience with increasing responsibility
- Knowledge of food safety programs and systems including HACCP and GMPs
- Familiarity with sanitation, plant maintenance, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing
- Experience with Total Plant Management
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a diverse team
- Experience in a union environment preferred
- Master's in Business Administration preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Provide leadership and direction to all plant departments
- Ensure safe and efficient plant operation adhering to company policies and regulations
- Utilize Total Plant Management processes to improve efficiency and reliability
- Monitor production, inventory, safety, human resources, quality assurance, maintenance, and sanitation
- Plan and execute capital projects and long-range strategic initiatives
- Promote Lean Manufacturing concepts and drive continuous improvement
- Manage plant’s capital and operating budgets responsibly
- Develop associates and leaders to enhance team skills and foster engagement and improvement culture
