Job Requirements
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry between 11-20 lbs constantly and 21-50 lbs frequently
- Ability to manually manipulate items and reach outward constantly
- Ability to reach above shoulder frequently
- Ability to bend frequently and squat or kneel occasionally
- Ability to grasp items and push/pull between 13-25 lbs constantly and 26-40 lbs frequently
- Hear verbal requests clearly
- Use personal protective equipment such as facemask, non-slip shoes, back belt for lifting over 25 lbs, and safety gloves when handling knives
- Must take and pass all training tests with 90% or higher
- Acquire a knife set within 30 days of hire
- Dependable with regular attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- Six months prep cook experience within an HCR restaurant or minimum one year external line cook experience
- Ability to take care of customers’ needs while following company procedures
- Ability to complete tasks under stressful situations
- Ability to work safely by following safety policies and procedures
- Ability to actively listen and understand comments and questions from others
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, guests, and management
- Receive and follow directions from supervisors and computer-generated tickets
- Ability to pay attention to minute details
- Ability to work effectively with a team
- Exhibit a cheerful demeanor and bring energy to tasks
- Maintain neat and well-groomed appearance
Job Duties
- Read and understand recipes and POS generated tickets
- Cut foods as specified by recipe
- Weigh, measure, and prepare foods according to recipe specifications using station checklists
- Ensure that allergies are taken into consideration and food is modified for safe consumption
- Prepare meats, vegetables, batters, sauces, and dressings according to recipes
- Bake or cook food items according to guest order and recipes
- Clean and sanitize the assigned station throughout the shift
- Assist others as needed
- Restock or breakdown assigned station before next meal period
- Communicate pertinent information to next meal period’s line cooks
- Communicate food and equipment shortages to kitchen supervisor, sous chef, or chef
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Prepare and present specific menu items according to standardized plating cards and recipes
- Set up station according to daily checklist, par sheet, and chef's direction
- Follow all policies regarding scheduling and attendance
