Job Requirements

  • must be 16 years of age or older with a municipality of anchorage food worker card or willing to obtain one
  • experience is preferred but not required
  • evening and weekend availability is a must
  • ability to stand for the duration of the shift with minimal breaks
  • ability to work in noisy, fast-paced environments with distracting conditions
  • ability to lift and carry 30 plus lbs
  • ability to work in hot and humid environments
  • good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • self-motivation and time management skills
  • ability to multitask and retain multiple called ticket items

Job Qualifications

  • must be 16 years of age or older with a municipality of anchorage food worker card or willing to obtain one
  • experience is preferred but not required as this is a teaching kitchen
  • positive attitude and eagerness to learn
  • good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • basic knowledge of kitchen terminology and knife skills
  • self-motivation and ability to manage time and accomplish tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • ability to multitask and retain multiple called ticket items

Job Duties

  • adhere to all safety, sanitation, and policy procedures
  • extensive knowledge of menu items and ingredients
  • read printed tickets carefully with attention to detail
  • accurately produce orders following recipe guidelines and ticket specifications
  • monitor temperature and cooking times while taking personal pride in every item delivered for service
  • operate kitchen equipment safely
  • proper handling and rotation of food according to food service codes
  • promptly report equipment and food quality issues to a manager
  • communicate clearly and professionally with all staff in the restaurant
  • complete all opening, closing, and side duties
  • assist with dishwashing and other cleaning tasks as needed
  • work as a team with your fellow co-workers and treat each other with kindness and respect
