Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Previous food preparation experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serve meals or prepare for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Use established ticket collection procedures during service and maintain records from the area worked during service periods
  • Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring food and supply items are stored per standards
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
  • Assist in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
  • Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
  • Follow HACCP standards
  • Commit personally to your own safety and that of others
  • Abide by all company policies and procedures including proper use of gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and lifting techniques
