Job Requirements

  • Flexible shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to stand or walk entire shift
  • ability to reach, bend, and stoop frequently
  • proficiency in English for speaking, reading, and writing
  • capability to read recipes, food labels, and POS ticket orders
  • effective communication skills to coordinate food flow and report issues
  • safe operation of kitchen machinery including open flame grills and slicers
  • safe handling of hot cooking equipment and sharp utensils
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs multiple times per shift
  • ability to carry heavy items to high storage areas
  • endurance to hold lighter items for extended periods
  • tolerance for high temperature and damp working conditions
  • willingness to assist with cleaning and dishwashing tasks
  • completion of required food safety certification in compliance with company and state regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Able to work flexible shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physically able to stand or walk 100 percent of shift
  • able to reach, bend, stoop
  • ability to speak, read, and write English
  • able to read recipes and food labels
  • able to read POS ticket orders
  • communicate ticket times and execute food flow from kitchen to guests
  • report potential issues to manager on duty
  • safely use kitchen machinery such as open flame grill, stove, slicer
  • work safely with hot plates, pots, pans
  • work safely with sharp knives and utensils
  • able to lift up to 50 lbs several times per shift
  • able to lift heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezers
  • ability to hold items weighing up to 5 lbs for long periods
  • able to work in high temperature, damp environments indoors and minimally outdoors
  • assist fellow employees with dishwashing and cleaning as needed
  • complete and pass food safety certification program according to Flanigan's and Florida statutes

Job Duties

  • Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
  • prepare menu items according to Flanigan's company recipe manual and plate presentation
  • ensure rotation of all products and stock products to par level to avoid kitchen disruption
  • help complete assigned prep work and set up stations as necessary
  • transport items to and from kitchen and assist vendors unloading delivery trucks
  • clean and maintain kitchen area throughout shift
  • break down and clean all stations at closing
