Job Requirements
- Maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- be less than 70 years old
- regular scheduled attendance
- comply with drug and alcohol testing per DOT/FAA requirements
- ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily
- meet visual flight rules program flight hour minimums
- meet instrument flight rules program flight hour minimums
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- two to five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- bachelor’s degree preferred
- commercial and instrument ratings for category and class of aircraft
- airline transport pilot (ATP) rating in category
- current first or second class FAA medical certificate
- recent flight experience in category within previous 24 months
- thorough interpersonal skills for professional relationships
- extensive flight experience including night, cross-country, and instrument hours
Job Duties
- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- complete pre-flight inspections verifying aircraft airworthiness
- perform walk-around inspections prior to and after flights
- assume final authority for aircraft operation and passenger safety
- maintain thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems
- ensure medical flight team familiarity with medical interior
- complete required flight documentation
- conduct detailed flight planning with little notice
- participate in meetings, projects, committees, and community outreach
- perform other assigned duties
