Job Requirements

  • Must possess active and current FAA Dispatcher License
  • Five years minimum aircraft operations experience
  • Knowledge of aircraft performance data and aviation dispatch procedures
  • Understanding of FAA regulations and compliance
  • Ability to assess weather and flight restrictions
  • Experience with flight planning software and weather tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and travel
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders including pilots and vendors

Job Qualifications

  • Active and current FAA Dispatcher License including passing written and practical FAA tests
  • Minimum five years of aircraft operations experience
  • Knowledge of aircraft performance data, aviation dispatch procedures, work rules, local and international regulations, flight following and weather software
  • Experience with takeoff decision speed, balanced field length concept, minimum air control speeds, and safety margins in varying weather conditions
  • Knowledge of minimum regulatory fuel and alternative airport weather requirements
  • Understanding of Air Traffic Control procedures and pilot responsibilities related to enroute operations, terminal area, instrument departure and approach procedures
  • Ability to effectively route plan aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations and company policy including flight and crew duty limits, airport suitability, and political considerations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FARs and appropriate portions of the Airmen's Information Manual (AIM)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with executive management, government officials, and service center representatives
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and travel for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Oversees the general planning and oversight of Bechtel Aircraft Operations (BAO) flights including aircraft dispatch in compliance with FAA regulations
  • Adheres to standard operating procedures to ensure flight operations are conducted in a safe, on-time, secure, dependable, efficient, and flexible manner
  • Confirms safest optimum flight routings when planning trip itineraries based on maintenance downtime requirements, crew duty/rest limitations, aircraft operational performance, airport/runway suitability, weather analysis, Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), and political situations
  • Assesses real-time weather outlook and air traffic and airport restrictions impacting operations such as Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs), Special Traffic Management Procedures (STMPs), Airspace Flow Programs (AFPs), and adverse weather
  • Files worldwide flight plans in accordance with FAA regulations and company policy and shares compliance responsibility with Pilot-in-Command
  • Schedules aircrew duty to comply with company and FAA regulations regarding flight and duty times
  • Ensures timely and accurate schedule communication to executive assistants, crewmembers, maintenance technicians, and corporate security offices
  • Coordinates international trip setup with third-party vendors, including overflight and landing permissions, customs clearance, and travel visas
  • Maintains and updates aircraft fleet documentation including insurance documents and international permits
  • Assists in maintaining crew training records and updates pilot training schedules
