Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- current 1st class FAA medical certificate
- airline transport pilot certificate with instrument and multi-engine land ratings
- minimum 2,500 hours of pilot in command time
- minimum 1,500 hours of multi-engine time
- minimum 1,000 hours of turbine-powered time
- minimum 500 hours of pilot in command in multi-engine turbine powered aircraft
- demonstrated knowledge of FARs and applicable AIM sections
- excellent communication skills
- experience with executive management and government officials
- willingness to work irregular hours and travel extensively
Job Qualifications
- Current 1st class FAA medical certificate
- airline transport pilot with instrument and airplane multi-engine land ratings
- bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and Airmen’s Information Manual (AIM)
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- experience dealing with executive management, government officials, and service center representatives
- willingness to work irregular hours and travel for extended periods
Job Duties
- Checks weather, all applicable Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs), determines the aircraft weight and balance, and the appropriate fuel, oil and oxygen requirements
- makes the final decision as to whether or not an aircraft may be safely operated
- consults with other departments to resolve maintenance irregularities, passenger service issues, and operational planning
- completes an aircraft pre-flight inspection before each departure
- conducts pre-flight planning and pre-flight briefing of operational pilots
- ensures that assigned aircraft crewmembers have valid licenses, medical certificates, passports, and visas if required
- ensures a Part 91 compliant briefing is conducted for all passengers prior to flight
- assumes absolute authority relative to the safe operation of the aircraft and over other crewmembers during aircraft movement to ensure compliance with customs, immigration and sabotage laws
- operates the aircraft in accordance with operator procedures and aircraft limitations to ensure the safe transport of key executives and their families, authorized employees, and physical assets
- oversees the appropriate provision of passenger services during trips, including arrangement of in-flight catering and verifying itinerary times
- completes all post-flight duties including briefings, documentation, cabin and galley restocking, notifying maintenance of defects, and reporting itinerary deviations
- remains in command of crewmembers until duty period ends or command is relinquished
- has full responsibility and final authority for the safe operation of the airplane
- directs activities of crewmembers to promote safety and operational effectiveness
- may fly as Second-in-Command on designated trip sequences
