Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- pass motor vehicle report and background check
- pass company drug testing
- obtain and maintain P/EVO and defensive driving certification
- availability for overnight stays 2 to 3 nights per week
- physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform maintenance tasks
- willingness to travel extensively and drive in all 48 states
- proficiency in English
Job Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with possible additional endorsements
- motor vehicle report and background check in line with company requirements
- certification in Pilot/Escort Vehicle Operator (P/EVO) and defensive driving
- ability to read and comprehend English, bills of lading, and permits
- strong team mindset and communication skills
- physical ability to perform job tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and maintenance inspections
- willingness to operate vehicles across all 48 states
Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation of the home for shipment
- pilot/escort the home along the required route
- communicate hazards and traffic patterns via CB radio
- assist in cargo repairs and maintenance including flat tires and pre-trip inspections
- maintain communication with the Toter driver and retailers
- understand and comply with state-specific pilot/escort requirements
- represent Clayton professionally while operating company vehicles
