Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, human services, public health, organizational behavior, aviation, or a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum three years of experience in relevant pilot assistance or related programs
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and familiarity with Canadian Aviation Regulations preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including travel up to 25%
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, human services, public health, organizational behavior, aviation, or a related field
  • Three or more years of experience in pilot assistance, peer support, EAP functions, mental health, aeromedical, safety/wellness, crisis response, or aviation-related volunteer programs
  • Working knowledge of the aviation industry, including Federal Aviation Regulations and familiarity with Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Strong communication skills including preparing guidance and training materials
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and support sensitive volunteer work
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple programs and volunteer groups
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Job Duties

  • Provide coordination and support for Pilot Assistance programs including Pilot Peer Support, Critical Incident Response, Professional Standards, HIMS, Aeromedical, and Canadian Pilot Assistance
  • Ensure programs remain pilot-focused, confidential, and aligned with best practices in mental health and crisis response
  • Engage with ALPA's other Air Safety pillars including Safety, Security, and Jumpseat to integrate pilot well-being into safety and training programs
  • Develop and prepare guidance, training materials, and policy documents for pilot leadership
  • Manage multiple programs, volunteer groups, and schedules across U.S. and Canadian operations
  • Support implementation of Pilot Assistance initiatives and priorities set by pilot leadership and management
  • Maintain a strong, coordinated support infrastructure for pilots during stress, crisis, or personal need
