- TWIC card
- Must retain a USCG Master Mate of Towing Vessels license endorsed for service
- Must meet USCG physical examination requirements
Job Qualifications
- Retain a USCG Master Mate of Towing Vessels license endorsed for service
- Hold a valid TWIC card
- Meet USCG physical examination requirements
- Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to manage maritime crews
- Knowledge of maritime safety regulations and towing safety management systems
Job Duties
- Responsible for safe and efficient operations and performance of crew vessel and tow
- Ensure crews adherence to company policies rules regulations and culture
- Coordinate with shoreside management and the Coast Guard on all reportable incidents
- Conduct monthly drills and safety meetings in accordance with policies and procedures
- Instruct the crew on their duties and ensure continuous improvement towards the goal of zero safety incidents
- Serve as the Vessel Security Officer
- Comply with all requirements of the companies Towing Safety Management System
- Participate in crew management and performance evaluations
