Job Requirements
- Commercial pilot certificate with required ratings
- Compliance with federal aviation regulations
- Minimum required flight hours depending on aircraft type
- Completion or eligibility for ATP CTP course
- Ability to communicate effectively with team and patients
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform required movements
- Capacity to stand or sit for extended periods
- Capability to work in confined spaces
- Valid work authorization in Utah
- Scheduled availability of 40 hours per week
Job Qualifications
- Must hold a commercial certificate with appropriate category and class ratings and instrument airplane
- Eligible to complete an ATP CTP course within one year of employment for single engine aircraft
- 2500 hours in airplanes for single engine
- ATP rating for multi-engine land airplanes for multi engine aircraft
- 3000 hours in airplanes, including 1000 hours multi-engine and 200 flight hours at night
- 300 flight hours instrument time with 100 hours in actual instrument
- 500 pilot in command flight hours in a multi-engine airplane
- 500 pilot in command flight hours in a turbine airplane
- For internal candidates, must have completed ATP CTP course prior to training, 2000 hours in airplanes, and continuous employment at Intermountain Health for 2 years
- Preferred EMS experience
- King Air 90/200 PIC time of 100 hours
- PC-12 PIC time of 50 hours
- 200 hours turbo jet for turbo-jet operations
Job Duties
- Safely and effectively operate aircraft in accordance with federal regulations, manufacturer's recommendations, and Intermountain policies
- Demonstrate independent critical thinking in preflight planning and aircraft operations
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aviation regulations, policies, and procedures
- Communicate effectively and timely with team members, communication specialists, and patients or family members
- Ensure aircraft cleanliness and proper functioning
- Maintain a safe environment for self, team members, and patients
- Evaluate transports according to service criteria and guidelines
- Participate in education, flight reviews, and training programs
- Assist medical crewmembers with loading and unloading patients and equipment
- Serve as Lead Pilot including managing satellite base functions and taking corrective actions when necessary
- Act as Instructor or Check Pilot for evaluating pilot performance and training assessment
- Mentor Second-in-Command Pilots under the Company Pilot Development Program
- Monitor safety issues and participate in Safety Committee activities
