Job Requirements
- Must hold a current commercial or ATP rotorcraft pilot certificate with instrument rating
- Must have a current class II medical certificate
- Minimum 2,500 PIC helicopter flight hours required
- At least 500 cross-country hours with 100 at night
- Minimum 75 hours instrument flight time with 50 hours actual flight
- Must pass Part 135.293 check ride after INDOC training
- Must participate in pre-employment DOT FAA drug and alcohol testing
- Must participate in Intermountain Health drug and alcohol testing
- Weight in flight uniform must be under 206 pounds
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Must stand or sit for extended periods and maneuver in confined spaces
Job Qualifications
- Current commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating or ATP rotorcraft certificate
- Current class II medical certificate
- Minimum of 2,500 PIC flight hours in helicopters
- At least 500 cross-country flight hours including 100 night hours
- Minimum of 75 hours actual or simulated instrument flight time
- Ability to pass Part 135.293 check ride post-training
- Experience with night vision goggles preferred
- Mountain flying above 8,500 feet preferred
- EMS experience an advantage
- 300 hours of night flying preferred
- Actual IFR flight experience preferred
Job Duties
- Operate aircraft safely and effectively according to federal regulations and company policies
- Conduct independent preflight planning and critical decision making
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aviation regulations and procedures
- Communicate effectively with team members, communication specialists, and patients/families
- Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of the aircraft
- Evaluate transport missions based on service guidelines
- Support medical crew by assisting with patient loading and equipment handling
- Participate in flight reviews and professional development activities
- Serve as an Instructor or Check Pilot evaluating flight performance
- Act as Safety Representative addressing safety concerns and training
- Maintain a safe environment for self, team, and patients
