Job Requirements

  • Unrestricted Wisconsin Medical Licensure by start date
  • Board eligibility or board certification through American Board of Emergency Medicine by start date
  • Completion of accredited Emergency Medicine residency by start date
  • Ability to meet flight occupational requirements including physical agility, vision, hearing, and weight assessments pre-employment and annually
  • Ability to work onsite at designated campus location
  • Pass initial caregiver check and comply with Wisconsin Caregiver Law
  • Provide proof of work authorization and eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • MD or DO or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency
  • Board eligibility or certification through the American Board of Emergency Medicine
  • Fellowship training in Retrieval and Critical Care Transport, Critical Care Medicine, or EMS Medicine preferred
  • Prior clinical experience in prehospital and critical care transport preferred
  • Ability to teach medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Meeting criteria for Clinical Associate Professor rank preferred for qualified candidates

Job Duties

  • Provide advanced retrieval and critical care transport for patients of all ages by air or ground
  • Perform clinical shifts of 12 to 24 hours ensuring highest standards of care
  • Collaborate with flight nurses, pilots, and hospital critical care teams during transport
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows through supervised clinical care and educational activities
  • Participate in service activities including departmental meetings, trainings, and administrative duties
  • Contribute to specialty transports including ECMO and patients with advanced life-support devices
  • Maintain compliance with flight occupational requirements and safety protocols
