Job Requirements

  • Associates degree in physical therapy
  • current and valid licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy as an assistant or eligibility to apply for licensure
  • current Arkansas license or eligibility to apply and obtain license within one month of hire
  • ability to operate physical therapy equipment
  • adherence to UAMS policies and HIPAA standards
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to educate patients and caregivers

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree in physical therapy
  • current and valid licensure or eligibility to apply for licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy
  • two years of experience preferred
  • current Arkansas license or eligibility to obtain license within one month of hire
  • LSVT BIG or PWR! Moves certification preferred
  • ability to educate and assist patients in managing chronic conditions and promoting wellness
  • skills in care coordination and developing individualized health plans
  • competence in maintaining accurate records and adherence to organizational policies
  • ability to work independently and adapt to changing workloads
  • commitment to professional development and ongoing training

Job Duties

  • Implement therapeutic plans under the supervision of a physical therapist
  • provide daily care including gait training, balance exercises, strength training, endurance exercises, and functional mobility
  • educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and wellness
  • ensure compliance with UAMS policies and HIPAA standards
  • operate and maintain physical therapy equipment
