Job Requirements
- Graduate of Physical Therapy Assistant Associate Degree program accredited by recognized agency
- Certification by the State of Connecticut
- One year of acute care experience
- Possession of individual malpractice insurance policy
- Adequate transportation and valid automobile insurance
- Willingness to provide service throughout the agency's geographic area
- Ability to perform heavy work and patient transfers
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of Physical Therapy Assistant Associate Degree program accredited by recognized agency
- Certification by the State of Connecticut
- One year of acute care experience
- Experience in home health care preferred
- Knowledge of APTA guidelines and standards
- Skill in patient problem identification and communication
- Skill in clinical record documentation
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships
Job Duties
- Assist in the provision of physical therapy to patients in their homes in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Perform physical therapy procedures and related tasks selected by the supervising physical therapist
- Document all services provided in the clinical record in accordance with regulations and agency policy
- Participate in coordination of care with other disciplines
- Manage work assignments effectively and efficiently
- Attend team meetings and inform the primary therapist of client progress
- Develop and maintain professional skills through in-service training and self-development
