Job Requirements

  • Graduate of Physical Therapy Assistant Associate Degree program accredited by recognized agency
  • Certification by the State of Connecticut
  • One year of acute care experience
  • Possession of individual malpractice insurance policy
  • Adequate transportation and valid automobile insurance
  • Willingness to provide service throughout the agency's geographic area
  • Ability to perform heavy work and patient transfers
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal range

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of Physical Therapy Assistant Associate Degree program accredited by recognized agency
  • Certification by the State of Connecticut
  • One year of acute care experience
  • Experience in home health care preferred
  • Knowledge of APTA guidelines and standards
  • Skill in patient problem identification and communication
  • Skill in clinical record documentation
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships

Job Duties

  • Assist in the provision of physical therapy to patients in their homes in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Perform physical therapy procedures and related tasks selected by the supervising physical therapist
  • Document all services provided in the clinical record in accordance with regulations and agency policy
  • Participate in coordination of care with other disciplines
  • Manage work assignments effectively and efficiently
  • Attend team meetings and inform the primary therapist of client progress
  • Develop and maintain professional skills through in-service training and self-development
